The Heart Behind The Art
Astrow Art Studio was born from love — love for art, for storytelling, for kids, and for community. I created this studio so young artists could feel seen, supported, and inspired to express who they truly are. Here, every pencil stroke, splash of color, and sketchbook idea matters.
My name is Asia Trowell — I’m a Black artist, veteran, and a stay-at-home mom of five. Art has always been my passion, but it became my purpose when I saw how deeply it could impact young people. I currently host an after-school art club at a charter school in Killeen and teach structured but expressive lessons that help students develop their own visual voice. That’s the heartbeat of Astrow. Originally from Kentucky, I moved to Texas in 2018 to build a life that’s rooted in both family and creativity. I’m currently earning my degree in Computer Animation at Full Sail University and expect to graduate in October 2025. My background as a military veteran and educator gives me a unique perspective on how to lead with both structure and soul.
At Astrow Art Studio, we focus on more than just making art — we focus on building up the artist. Our classes are in-person, and full of imagination. Whether students are learning to design their first character or creating an expressive self-portrait, they’ll walk away with more than a finished piece and a portfolio— they’ll walk away with pride.
This is a space to create, connect, and grow — and I’m honored to share it with you and your babies!
Why Choose Astrow Art Studio?
Here’s what makes our studio different — and why families trust us to help their young artists grow. As a Black-owned, veteran-led art studio, we’re proud to bring fresh energy, community values, and creative passion into everything we teach.

Rooted in the Killeen Community
We’re more than a studio — we’re your neighbor. Astrow was created for local families, by a local artist, and our mission is to uplift young creatives in our own backyard.

Focused on Storytelling Through Art
From character creation to comics, our classes help students turn ideas into visual stories. It’s not just about drawing — it’s about learning to express, imagine, and build confidence through art.

Confidence Meets Creativity
Our self-expression classes are designed to empower. In programs like "I Love Myself!", students explore identity and emotions through meaningful projects that celebrate who they are.
